Our Two’s program, also commonly known as Pre-K2 and designed for 2-3 year olds, expands on the foundation established in the Toddler/Pre-Two’s program.
Our Two’s learn as they play and explore with paint, dough, puzzles, manipulatives, and building blocks. Our early childhood teachers help each child develop a strong social language through which to communicate with their peers and adults. We begin to introduce more routine and structure to children’s activities and daily schedule. Your child will build vocabulary, learn functional numerical skills, and will be encouraged to use simple reasoning to explain everyday occurrences. They learn basic shapes and colors before graduating to Three’s (Pre-K3).
We also focus on stimulating their cognitive, verbal, and physical skills by potty training. By the time they move on to the Three’s, they are fully potty trained. Some overall objectives, include:
Language & Literacy: Children build vocabulary by discussing stories being read and begin to understand simple directions.
Social-Emotional: Teachers encourage independence as children learn to verbalize wants and needs. They will also learn about taking turns.
Creative Expression: Children play toy instruments, create multi-sensory art, and engage in pretend play.
Mathematics: Your child will begin to explore number sets, experiment with textures, sort by colors and build reasoning skills.
